Ellen DeGeneres Sells Luxe L.A. Condo for $5.85M
Djansezian/Getty ImagesEllen DeGeneres, talk show host and serial real estate flipper, has done it again. She and wife Portia de Rossi secured a buyer for their Los Angeles condo, according to TMZ. The pending sale, which the website reported to be finalized at $5.85 million, was the second of two apartments the couple owned in the Beverly West apartment building in the Westwood neighborhood.
But the comedian may not be laughing. The reported purchase price is significantly lower than the $8 million list price when the condo went on the market last February.
The couple bought the half-floor condo and an adjacent apartment in 2014 for $13 million. The other unit was sold in June for $6 million, the Real Deal reported.
Beverly West building in L.A.realtor.comAccording to the listing description from the Westside Estate Agency, the space has been entirely redone, and is “one of the most prime units available” in the upscale building, with unobstructed city and golf course views from downtown to the Pacific Ocean.
The spacious apartment with over 4,000 square feet has a dedicated elevator that opens directly into the space. The two-bedroom layout features stone finishes, wide-plank oak flooring, and custom paneling. The kitchen has Arclinea countertops, Miele appliances, and wine storage. The high-tech Lutron lighting and shade system are controlled by iPad.
The building amenities include a separate service elevator, 24-hour security, doorman, valet service, fitness center, swimming pool, and spa.
The 59-year-old seems to relish the real estate game when she’s not on air. She and de Rossi bought and renovated a 1930s Tuscan-style villa in Santa Barbara, which they put on the market for $45 million last March (the price has since dropped to $39.5 million). The couple, who married in 2008, have owned at least seven homes together.
